Forms, paperwork etc. don't we all hate it?

At one time your desk may have looked like the photo, but thankfully now things are much simpler, the gobbledygook that once was present has now reduced to a very simple level.

Essentially, once you have received our quotation, then in order to get your vehicle into the UK there are just a few simple steps: -

1. You will need to complete our booking form in order for us to commence acting on your behalf, there is nothing complicated, just simple details, you can download them in either Adobe Acrobat ™ format or Microsoft Excel ™ format. These forms can be faxed, emailed or posted to us and must be signed. Go to here to download

You must supply a clear copy of your passport photo page, or if not available, then your photo driving licence.

If you need the forms posting then we will naturally include a pre-paid envelope for it's return.

2. You will need to get a copy of the Bill of Sale from the seller of the vehicle. These forms can be faxed, emailed or posted to you or us. Go to here to download a sample form.

3. Please ask your seller to send a copy of the "Title" to you, please stress that they must not send the original to you, as the vehicle cannot clear US customs without the original.

If you follow the above, this will allow your vehicle to leave the USA.

4. Depending on where your vehicle is arriving to, will depend whether you need to complete this c384 form.

5. If you meet the Personal Import Criteria of having lived outside of the UK for 12 months (you'll need to prove it) and have had the vehicle registered in your name for a minimum of 6 months, then you will need this c104a form.

6. Once your vehicle arrives in the UK (From the US), you will need to register it using a form V55/5 available from your local DVLA, click here for their web site.

There, we told you it wasn't bad, most of the time if your vehicle is coming into Southampton, then you need do nothing more than complete our Booking Forms. If it comes into another port then you may just simply need to complete the c384 form.
